At an average wedding with 80 guests, around 1,500 photos and videos are taken. The photographer delivers 400. Where does the rest go? It stays on your guests' phones — the first dance from the balcony, the reactions during the speeches, the afterparty at 1:30 AM when no photographer was left.
The problem isn't unwillingness. It's friction: a WhatsApp group fills up and compresses everything, a shared drive requires accounts, and "I'll send them later" simply never happens. Two weeks after the event, the content has evaporated.

Photos in which people are recognisable are personal data. Anyone collecting and using event photos needs a legal basis — usually consent. In practice this often goes wrong: a "photos are being taken here" sign at the entrance is legally thin, and shared folders without agreements make nobody accountable.
Done properly: ask for consent at the moment of contribution. With Shareddd, every uploader explicitly agrees to a consent text (which the organiser can customise) before uploading. That consent is recorded, content lives on EU servers, and everything is automatically deleted after the retention period — an often-forgotten GDPR duty.
